Abram, Abraham believing in God.

Most of the time when I get approached by christians their cuestion is: Do you believe in God? or Have you read the Bible?. Believing in God has nothing to do with the Bible. Lets begin by looking back to some personalities mentioned in the bible that christian religion itself recognize them as part of the inheritance of that belief system.
Abram was his name, he woke up one day and looked around. He talk to his wife and out of the conversation, very likely a new thought came out. There has to be more. More of what?, there has to be more than drugs, drug users, prostitutes, corruption, slave selling, compromising with the market place, fighting for a piece of bread. There were so many things wrong with Ur, a Chaldean city. His story began passed Adam being kicked out of Eden, even passed Noah, and passed Sodom and Gomorra.
What desition Abram took? Let's get the hell out of town! Of course the wife asked, why? He stated that the ONE and only God, (monoteism) has inspired him to find a better place for him, his wife and his seed(family). Yes, so far it is clear that Abram has not read the bible, yet he believed in God. Why do I say he did not read the bible? because this was centuries before Moses wrote the first 5 books that the tribe claims to be the pentateuch or basis of the judeo-christian belief. It contains a summary of the creation, the story per se. No, Abram did not stop and think of the consecuencies, he just stood up and say, "Let's go!" Simple enough, the interesting part is the story how he fear for his life when him and Sara arrived at another city. There we find Abram lying, he tells the people that Sara is his sister. He feared that the locals will kill him and steal such a beautiful wife. After some time they confronted him and he accepts his lie. During this internal discovery, he decides to change both of their names, from now on he will be known as Abraham, and his wife Sarah. So far we know that first he is "called" then he finds a new name. Interesting that all this happens without the presence of any scripture. Jeohova witness people will have a cow, this doesn't fit their picture. Mormons will have to burn the book of mormon, since God exists and doesn't need a scripture to reveal himself to a man (or woman) of concscience.
This brings us to an interesting point, apparently there has to be a desire to know and do the right thing for the preservation of life, then there is a revelation.
The drug addict culture of Ur, was not very conducting to cultivate a civilization of life. Abraham had this revelation, inside his heart and mind he was convinced that he needed to get out of the nihilist society and seek an abundant life, a family life. Some place where he did not fear the society around would convert his kids in drug addicts or empty religious ignoramus(priests and priestesses at the politeistic temples). This leaves us with some other points, God is God, for the Jew, the Muslim, the christian, the Hindu. Different name in different languages but the same concept. Atheist argue the non-existence of God by atacking the bible. I am presenting the existence of God without a need for a bible. The bible is a byproduct of the awakening of the conscience. I do not know how many can remember their Sunday school lessons, but there was one about the book of revelation. That section spoke of the "resurrection" of the death in Christ, in other words those who died believing there was a God and a heavenly place where we all find rest. This is a place in consciousness that we reach after we leave behind the things of this world. What things? seeking fame, money, power, we relinquish those things then a beautiful peace appears inside of us. The other things are added later(home, job, family, friends), Abraham Lincoln was a failure after failure, yet he became the President of the United States. Failure is not the measure here, faith is. The bible is not the measure of the faith, God is, if God called you to became and overcome, nothing can stop you from being and overcoming.
